Our Vice President, Jan Berk was amongst the panelists at the ACG 101 “The State of Agriculture Along California’s Gold Coast.” She addressed some of the most difficult challenges facing California agriculture and gave insight on how San Miguel Produce strategically plans to address these issues.

The California drought, labor shortage and regulation burdens were amongst the topics discussed by the panel. Jan and the rest of the panelists: Toine Overgaag (President of Westerlay Orchids), Casey Houweling (Owner of Houweling’s Tomatoes), and Susan B. Mulligan (General Manager Calleguas Municipal Water District) all stressed the importance of these issues and the need for everyone, including regulatory agencies, to work together towards solutions.
